Singaporeans and PRs aged 18 years and above can use their Medisave for the approved vaccinations under the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS). List of approved vaccinations:

Influenza (commonly known as the flu), is spread via droplets from person to person, when someone with the virus sneezes, coughs or talks.

Recommended Groups:

  • Persons aged 65 years and above
  • Persons aged 18 years and above and receiving long-term aspirin therapy
  • Persons who have chronic medical conditions such as diabetes mellitus, asthma and heart disease
  • Persons who are immunocompromised
  • Persons receiving intermediate and long term care services
  • Women at all stages of pregnancy

It is caused by pneumococcal bacteria and infection can result in pneumonia. It is spread from person-to-person by direct contact with respiratory secretions, like saliva or mucus.

Type of vaccines included under NAIS:

  1. 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13)
  2. 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23)

Recommended Groups:

  • Persons aged 65 years and above
  • Persons aged 18 years and above with chronic illnesses such as chronic lung, heart, kidney or liver diseases and diabetes mellitus
  • Persons who are immunocompromised or with other medical conditions

HPV is responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer in women and prevention is the best protection against it.

Vaccines included under NAIS:

  1.  Bivalent HPV vaccine (HPV2)
  2. Quadrivalent HPV vaccine (HPV4)

Recommended Group:

  • Females aged 9 to 26 years old

Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough) are serious diseases caused by bacterial infections. Diphtheria and pertussis are spread from person to person. Tetanus enters the body through cuts or wounds.

Recommended Group:

  • Pregnant women

Measles, mumps and rubella are three common childhood diseases that may be associated with serious complications and/or death.

Recommended Group:

  • Adults without evidence of immunity and/or prior disease

Hepatitis B is a serious liver infection caused by Hepatitis B virus. It spreads through blood or other body fluids that contain small amounts of blood of an infected person.

Recommended Group:

  • Adults without evidence of immunity and/or prior disease

Chickenpox (varicella) is a very contagious disease caused by varicella-zoster virus. It causes a blister-like rash, itching, tiredness and fever.

Recommended Group:

  • Adults without evidence of immunity and/or prior disease

Frequently Asked Questions:

Medisave is allowed to be used for the recommended vaccination based on the recommended groups under NAIS.

To enhance vaccination coverage and help Singaporeans pay for the recommended adult vaccines, Singaporeans will be able to use up to $500 of their Medisave, per account per year.
